On August 2, 2008 Iver Main Place, Central Butte and Palliser Regional Park are hosting the 2nd Annual Mosaic in the park. There are 13 Ethnic groups attending representing their ethnic food, song and dance. Tickets to attend Mosaic are $3.00 per person and children under the age of 7 are admitted free of charge.
Palliser Regional Park is putting out a Community Challenge to all surrounding Villages and Towns and felt teaming up with the Mosaic in the Park Event would be an opportune time to host the 1st Annual "Chair"ity Event community Challenge.
Each community will enter a CHAIR based on a theme of the community's choice. All the chairs will be on display in the Marina Community Centre at Palliser Regional Park throughout the day of August 2, 2008. Mosaic is slated to run from 5:00 to 8:00 at which time a live band, Old Country, will start to perform.
Al Klassen from Central Butte will start the "Chair"ity Auction at 8:30 with the total proceeds of the chair auction to be divided equally by all the participating communities. The community with the highest bid on their chair will receive a Traveling Plaque to be displayed in their community for a year as having won the honor of the best chair entered.
Theme ideas:
Child's Chair could be a children's chair with Baby Einstein Videos and children's toys
Recliner Chair with a case of beer, remote control and TV.
